Bill S. Southern-tinged vocals over impeccably-arranged, beautiful indie folk. Hits all the emotions of a great Laura Veirs record, this deserves to be widely known. Favorite track: The In-Between.

Strawberry Moon Skinny dipping in June in the phosphorescent bay Knee-high Fourth of July but I would throw it all away Blueberry Room I lived in you Or, at least I tried Blueberry Room Growing up is hard to do From some things you cannot hide Yellowstone Dinosaur bone You take my picture on your Polaroid Redwood Tell me how to be good I won’t listen but I’ll learn down the line Blueberry Room I lived in you Or, at least I tried Blueberry Room Growing up is hard to do From some things you cannot hide

Bottle of sunscreen A bottle of wine or two Over Mullhol.nd and up past M.libu I donʼt know where it goes Honestly, I donʼt care Iʼm alive in the world Ye.h, I know youʼve been there Romantic fool Iʼll come to you How lonely could you be when I adore you? If you wait and see, youʼll see it was meant to be If you wait and see, youʼll see it was meant to be Remember our first song in Morro Bay? They were volc.noes .nd turned to stone anyway You painted my name at Hollywood and Vine It made me feel special but it faded over time Romantic fool Iʼll come to you How lonely could you be when I adore you? If you wait and see, youʼll see it was meant to be If you wait and see, youʼll see it w.s meant to be Romantic fool Iʼll come to you And then I broke your heart but you deserved it And now that it is through Donʼt you see it was meant for you? And though time rolls on, at least we had fun If you wait and see, youʼll see it was meant to be If you wait and see, youʼll see it was meant to be

Is it wrong to make a move in Mercury Retrograde?  Well, we only live once? Let's do it anyway  I won’t be tame  I’m like a Mustang in the West  I’m like Buffalo Bill in a pink mini-dress  Sometimes I’m swimming where sharks live  Sometimes I’m giving what I can't give  There’s nowhere to go in the extreme  So I jump right into the in between  I go into the catacombs and bring the truth into view  Will you shove in my face and make it all about you?  I'm like Joan Didion when I ‘Play It As It Lays’  I know what nothing means and I love you anyway  Sometimes I’m swimming where sharks live  Sometimes I’m giving what I can't give  There’s nowhere to go in the extreme  So I jump right into the in between  Sometimes I’m swimming where sharks live  If I go too deep, will you pull me in?  Take me somewhere we can touch  We can go anywhere when we feel this much

Rest Awhile 03:42
If I could sit and rest awhile I think I could go the extra mile When the rains come and the rivers overflowing I'm bound to get where I'm going All of the rivers All of the rain Fight for me Michael carry the blade I need you Whatʼs meant for you, youʼll never lose Run like crazy in your red shoes I will find you If I was meant for you My horse can't carry the weight I gave him So I decide to let him run free When I wake up in the desert in the morning Heʼs there, standing next to me All of the rivers All of the rain Fight for me Michael carry the blade I trust you What's meant for you, youʼll never lose Run like crazy in your red shoes I will find you If I was meant for you The rains flow underground Buried rivers to be found You and me exist on a frequency All of the rivers All of the rain Fight for me Michael Carry the blade I believe in you What's meant for you, youʼll never lose Run like crazy Cut off your red shoes Iʼll still find you If I was meant for you You You

Sally looks up from her deck of cards Draws a heart  Puffs on a cigarette  Roger stands up from where he’s lying A curtain blows in the warm rain  Lovers on the run Way down in Cuba With the cobwebs and communists  And they say, “Life’s not long”  So you might as well live sometimes But then they say, “Life’s long” So you're getting good at killing time  50’s Chevrolet  Speeding down the speedway Under palm trees  and the smell of turpentine  Bottle of rum  and a cut on your thumb  and a far away look in your eye  Lovers on the run Way down in Cuba Drinking with the ghosts of Hemingway  And they say, “Life’s not long” So you might as well live sometimes But then they say, ”Life’s long” So you're getting good at killing time  They say, “Life’s not long”  So you might as well live sometimes But then they say, “Life’s long” So you're getting good at killing time You’re getting good at killing time

Dandelion wine in the forest Lips pressing on my teeth I’m a sinner Yeah, I’m a saint I draw a small dirt cross on your forehead It’s not sacrilege if the feeling of living overcomes me It’s not wrong to make believe if you’ve got something you believe in Inside everything is all kinds of meaning But don’t pretend you’re the one who understands There’s not just one right way in the end Baptize you in the river Rosary round your neck Oh sometimes, I swear I see right through you There’s a black cat on a Cadillac Is it Jesus or James Dean? Do you believe in reincarnation? It’s not wrong to make believe if you’ve got something to believe in Inside everything is all kinds of meaning But don’t pretend you’re the one who understands There’s not just one right way in the end I’m a child at your doorstep Singing you a sign Hoping somehow I could save you All identity is a premature concept Cause we don’t know where we’re from and we don’t know where we’re going yet It’s not wrong to make believe if you’ve got something to believe in Inside everything is all kinds of meaning I’m a blue heron flying in the fog Until you call me back like a dog Don’t pretend you’re the one who understands We’re all clearly lacking in experience

Daylight 03:25
As good as I am at talking I rarely get my point through Good as I am at walking away I rarely get where I’m going to Under the road there’s a river Buried up long ago If you could peel back the pavement you would see it there you would see it flow Daylight, daylight What’s been bothering you? Daylight, daylight Hoping for a breakthrough I can’t make you believe me if you’re not ready to I could lead you to crystalline springs but you won’t drink unless you want to I’d rather be lost in the truth than find myself living a lie It all reveals itself in the daylight Daylight, daylight What’s been bothering you? Daylight, daylight Hoping for a breakthrough Daylight, daylight What’s been bothering you? Daylight, daylight Hoping for a breakthrough I’d rather be lost in the truth than find myself living a lie Day, daylight

My Brother and I walk home from school He plays his video games I go into the living room Turn on the radio There’s a ghostly apparition in the room in a white bell bottom suit singing Blue Moon He said “It never felt quite right dancing in the spotlight like I did” I was just a little kid Talking to the ghost of Elvis He seems to have a lot to say I ask, who were you before the world made you this way? Who were you before the world made you this way? We walk down to the lakeshore Stare out across to Canada Then a black Cadillac rolls up He said “I think my time is up” As his rhinestones catch the light, he said “There’s one more things to say before I drive away - we’re all connected through time on this yellow brick road of life” Music never dies Talking to the ghost of Elvis He seems to have a lot to say I ask, who were you before the world made you this way? Who were you before the world made you this way? I’ve been dancing with Mozart in the clouds Sending love down to the lost souls in Las Vegas to a tear falling from an eye Our soul is a desert that slips through the sands of time Talking to the ghost of Elvis He seems to have a lot to say I ask, who were you before the world made you this way? Who were you before the world made you this way? Who were you before the world made you this way?

Holy Grail 02:55
You were on a quest for the Holy Grail Throwing pennies in the wishing well Searching everywhere but inside yourself and did you even notice the albatross that follows you? Look into your crystal ball See how I’ve loved you and those mistakes you make don’t say I didn’t warn you When you look back and all the doors are broken It’s best you move on Call it a battle won Day was turning into night The hand of fate had rolled the dice And did you think it was a sacrifice to shoot down the albatross that followed you? Look into your crystal ball See how I’ve loved you and those mistakes you make don’t say I didn’t warn you If you look back and all the doors are broken It’s best you move on Call it a battle won Look into your crystal ball See how I’ve loved you and those mistakes you make don’t say I didn’t warn you If you return and find my door is open It means you were asleep but now you have awoken and it’s best we carry on And call it a battle won

Ain’t no monster under my bed anymore Mother Mary with a suitcase at the door and I’ll wander through the wilderness ’til I’m wise Got my psychic bodyguard by my side Superstitious woman, how’s it being you? Hold me close, pour salt on the wound It stings at first Then the healing kicks in I know it’s hard to wait but it’s harder to begin I won’t worry about the future Just for today Build a little sailboat Ride the waves and sail away Trade fear for trust Trust for fate Cast your net Sharpen your blade It’s hard to live the truth It’s easy to lie but I’d rather be lost than regret my life Oh, superstitious woman, how’s it being you? Hold me close, pour salt on the wound It stings at first Then the healing kicks in I know it’s hard to wait but it’s harder to begin Superstitious woman, how’s it going be? I know you know Take it easy on me I know there’s meaning in all I see It’s hard to live in doubt but it’s harder to be free Take it easy on me Take it easy Take it easy on me

You met me on 14th street. It was cold outside You told me you had secrets you did your best to hide You don’t care about anything or do you care about everything? I can’t tell In the New York City subway station I found my shadow Crying in the corner Without my love I want to be with you I want to be beside you Top down on a highway paved in white light Having the time of your life Having the time of your life Having the time of your life Later on, I met Alice back at Union Square She was standing in the glow of the frozen air Put your hand in mine We’ve got the rest of the night I’m in the mood to fly In the deepest darkest corners I’m calling out to you Cupid take your arrow and pull it through I don’t mind I was born to be in love To hold the whole world on the tip of my tongue Top down on a highway paved in white light Having the time of your life Having the time of your life Having the time of your life I don’t want to see through you if you don’t want me to I’m throwing rocks at your window but you won’t let me inside It’s hard to see the truth easy to lie but the easy makes it harder and the harder makes it easier over time Having the time of your life Having the time of your life Having the time of your life In the New York City Subway station I found my shadow and now we’re top down on a highway Paved in white light

Golden lightbeam Carry me to you Wash away the sins of this world I’m no Joan of Arc but, I will carry on and I will love you for however long Drive west to Santa Fe Up around Oklahoma I’m like Annie Oakley in a lonely motel with the Bible in the bed stand Raven on the windowsill Will the world end? Who can tell, hell Ashes to ashes dust to dust but what was gold can never rust Pray to tarnation Television station I’m good at letting go when it’s the feeling that I trust Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, yeah

I don’t know about ghosts and UFOs Lost islands in the sea What will or will not be but I believe in the possibilities of all the depths of things we cannot see So much we don’t know So much we can’t see but of all the conspiracies you’re a mystery to me you are a mystery to me Hyperbolic worlds Ancient tombs Secret words Who made you who you are? They say we’re made up of stars darling and I believe in the possibilities of all the depths of things we cannot see So much we don’t know So much we can’t see but of all the conspiracies you’re a mystery to me you are a mystery to me If you feel it, can you see it? If you know it, can’t you show it? If you love, then you’re living If you can’t move on, you gotta give in I know beyond this living There’s a gift you might be giving So much we don’t know So much we can’t see but of all the conspiracies you’re a mystery to me you are a mystery to me If you feel it can you see it? If you know it why can’t you show it? If you feel it why can’t you be it? If you feel it why can’t you be it? If you love then you’re living If you can’t move on you gotta give in.

about

'The In-Between' took me three years. The world transformed and I moved from the US to Europe.

The album was written through a process of analytic dream work, automatic writing, and meditation. It was written all over the world - The Azores islands, Italy, Ireland, and Scotland.

It was recorded in Scotland in a secluded church in the Highlands - deep in the shadows of winter. Produced by Jamie Smith and mixed by Ali Chant. The instrumentation was done spontaneously with the musicians playing together.

More than a title, the in-between is a threshold between the past and the future. A place of infinite possibilities. A place of free will. A place of new beginnings.

Thanks for listening.
